Pricing a photo shoot is a tricky business which can vary a great deal dependant upon hours spent at the shoot, distance traveled as well as a whole host of other considerations. As a result the prices below are provided only as a general guide to the estimated amounts you can expect to pay. For a tailor made quote please give me a call and we can arrange to get together to talk more about exactly what you need. Thanks a lot.
For portraits, family, commercial, food, and still life shoots:
These types of shoots typically last up to one and a half hours. Then, I upload all of the raw, unoptimized images to a private online gallery. From these, you may choose ten images for me to optimize, included in the shoot price; additional images may be optimized at additional cost (see prices on pdf; also, bulk discounts are available if you would like a large number of images optimized.)
Digital photographs:
After I optimize your chosen images, I will create a new online gallery with these files available to download. The first ten optimized images will be available at a resolution suitable for printing up to 5*7; additional optimized images that you purchase will be provided at full resolution for printing up to poster size. You may also opt to order a CD of the optimized digital images.
Prints:
You may order prints for any of the images -- either your chosen optimized images or any of those in the raw folder. If you choose an image from the raw folder, I will optimize it before releasing it for printing. Under no circumstances will an unoptimized image be released for printing or web use. Images for which you order prints will not be available for download unless a digital image is specifically ordered.
The cost of a wedding can vary quite substantially dependent upon a range of factors. However, since many people would like to have an idea of what it is likely to cost to have beautiful images captured forever from their very special day, I have produced this document which I hope will help. Please remember that, unlike many photographers, every couple who book with me will receive a free engagement shoot at the time of their choosing, irrespective of the price point you fall into. I do this for several reasons and not only in order to attract business. Photographing with a couple before the big day really allows us to get to know one another a little better. This means that on the wedding day we tend to be more comfortable working together. It also allows the couple to have some images which they can use on invitations etc. please note that I am also a professional graphic designer and would be happy to help you to produce these invitations in a style that reflects your personality. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in and I would be happy to quote on that.
Please click on the thumbnail to see the wedding pricing document. I think it is pretty straightforward but don't hesitate to get in touch if it is confusing in anyway. These prices are correct for 2011 but can vary slightly depending on circumstance and what you need. Remember that our first meeting is always free both of cost and obligation. After we meet (preferably in person though, if that is not possible, I am open to a telephone meeting) I would produce a contract which would show clearly the exact price (usually the price shown on this document) and unless and until you sign that you are obliged to nothing. If the price seems right and you wish to go with me I would ask for 50% up front to reserve your wedding day and to lock out any other couples. I would then ask for the remainder of the money on or before the wedding day.
If you find that this document does not cover your situation (for example if you simply need a short engagement shoot, rehearsal dinner covered or somebody to come to the reception for a shorter time, please still get in touch. I can sometimes cover these shorter jobs and would custom bid at a lower price if I am available.
Once again, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you need any more information whatsoever and a hearty congratulations on your engagement.
This package usually involves approximately an hour and a half shoot time at the studio, the optimization of up to ten of the images and a $50 print credit to put towards getting prints made. These shoots are priced at $150 unless there are unusual requirements.
In my business I tend to meet a lot of people and when those people seem to run or
work for businesses which might be helpful for my clients I like to post a short
resumé and a link to them here. I would like to stress that all of the people below
are people I know on a personal basis, whose products and services I have personal
knowledge of and also that I don’t ask for payment nor reciprocal links to post these.
They are genuinely people I know and trust and would be happy to have my clients
patronize. Please let me know if you go to any of the people listed and have a less
than excellent experience (or even if you do have an excellent experience!)

Dr. Randall Hill of Bellingham Spinal Care is my choice for Bellingham's finest chiropractor.
He has an expansive medical knowledge base and an "easy to relate to", professional
manner. I'm in good company. When Northwest Business Monthly asked healthcare professionals
from across the region to nominate their peers whom they consider to be outstanding
physicians, chiropractor Randall Hill was Bellingham's 2009-2010 choice for chiropractic.
He was nominated for 2008-09 as well.
Dr. Hill includes disc-injury specific "spinal decompression therapy" for patients
that have back or neck symptoms that travel into the arm or leg. "It's a great adjunct
to chiropractic care, giving me the opportunity to help patients who might otherwise
require surgery", says Dr. Hill". While his focus is primarily on disc herniation
care, Dr. Hill enjoys all of his chiropractic and sports injury-related work. He
is proud to be the team chiropractor for the Bellingham Bulldogs (semi-pro football)
and the Bellingham Roller Betties (roller derby).
If you're considering chiropractic care, I recommend you call his office. He'll
provide a fifteen minute consult at no charge to ascertain whether he may be able
to help you. If you have diagnostic films, bring them along for review. He accepts
many insurances and welcomes seniors with Medicare.
Bellingham Spinal Care is located at 1633 Birchwood. They can be reached at 360

I am often asked by clients whether they can have all the images from their shoots and they are disappointed and confused when I say no. The reason is that photographs that come out of a high end SLR style camera are in what is called a ‘raw’ state. This means that, until and unless they are worked on in Photoshop they can look dark, flat and/or washed out. Please click the image at right to see what I mean. This is why it is important to work on all images before they go out into the world!
