It was a beautiful Sunday until we jumped into Tex, the trusty Camry and set off for Skagit. Then it started to rain. But were we disheartened? Yes, we were but still we ploughed on regardless. Then we couldn’t find the tulips. Where could they be? Well, we found them just as the rain really began to fall along with the night. But we got some great shots. I think so anyway. If you’d like to see all the worthwhile images taken that fateful eve you can do so at my flickr account by clicking here.
This was a nerve wracking one. Little did I know until David and Sid arrived that David works as a photo editor for Reuters! Boy, was I sweating! But I think we got some great images out of the shoot. Sid was adorable and had a great, strong personality. He really knew what it meant to pose for the camera. And David bought many prints and a large poster which I think will look great framed up!

Commercial
For several years I have been lucky enough to be the Herald’s photographer for their Dining Guide, doing the cover and many images within the magazine itself. The latest featured business was The Fountain on Broadway. It is always a joy to do creative food images, not least because the Herald crew often gets to chow down on the dishes once the photographs are taken! See more of my covers for the Herald here.

Fashion
I was commissioned to help the Toni&Guy hairdressing academy produce some fashion shots of models whose hair and makeup was done by the students and staff. After two days of shooting this is what I came up with.

Off to Britain!
Well, ladies and gents, I will be off with my family to Britain to visit my parents,
brother and friend for a couple of weeks as of the 22nd. I will still be available
via email but otherwise will be taking a well earned rest and enjoying the scenery
and hopefully perhaps a little bit of sunshine. Of course, I’ll have my camera. If
you want to see what came out of my last trip home, in 2008, you can do so here.
